Happy Smocked Dress with Crochet Lace!
I had some free time (rare!) so, i decided to make myself something pretty to wear. Because if we don’t spoil ourselves sometimes, who will? ;)
I had some fabric I had bought a year ago, and I just found it, so voila! A new summer dress ♥
Turning random stuff in your home into a Costume Dagger!
I needed to make a quick cosplay weapon for a photoshoot and i needed something to be the base of it, so i found this small butter/pate knife thingy (if you’re going to use something like this, make sure it’s NOT SHARP!)
-find random thing that has a good handle (i found this butter/pate knife with a really dull blade).
-use super sculpy and shape the blade and handle to what you want the dagger to look like.
-bake following the instructions on the super sculpy box.
-sand it down to make it nice and smooth.
-prime it with acrylic paint primer.
-paint (i used acrylics) to make it look super realistic (or in my case really cartoony)
-after paint dries, coat painted parts with a satin acrylic varnish.
*an extra step to make your cosplay dagger look awesome is to add some finishing touches -i covered the mid section of the handle with a strip of faux leather.
and VOILA you are done and now you have an uber cool cosplay dagger!
…happy crafting everyone!
RAVING RABBIDS ARE INVADING!
This is the very FIRST completed custom commission costume for 2012! Made for a very adorable 2yr old little girl. Costume is complete with attached mittens, and hoodie with raving rabbid face. Rabbid eyes are attached with velcro to remove them for easier laundering. I hope she likes it :)
…BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA~! (rabbid for ‘loves yous’)
Thinking Cap RAWR!
Having troubles figuring out pattern piece for this raving rabbid mini-me costume. Needed to put on my thinking cap.
MECHA BUNNY LOLLIPOPS!
This was made for my Amber (from sucker punch) cosplay, so I thought that I would share it with everyone how I made it:
-roll tin foil into balls roughly the size you want your bunny pops
-kneed super sculpy into a flat sheet and cover each foil ball with the clay
-shape another piece of super sculpy into a pair of ears and insert a toothpick into the bottom of the ears
-insert toothpick-ed bunny ear into the top of the ball of clay
-bake super sculpy in your oven as per the instructions on the box
-sand down with some fine-grain sandpaper
…it’s that easy pleasey…now go be your Sucker Punch sexy self~!
COOL NEW SWEATSHIRT! (kind of…)
So digging through all my moutains and moutains of clothes, i found my incredibly old graduation shirt from when i was in elementary school (i totally just dated myself haha!). Just for fun, i put in on to see if it would fit. AND IT DID >.< I haven’t grown an inch since 7th grade?? hahaha oh dear! My roomate must have thought this was very enduring because he patted my head and walked away laughing. I couldn’t give it away since it had so much sentimental value, so i decided to give it new life and purpose (besides sitting at the bottom of my drawer). So HERE GOES…
-measure from collar/shoulder seam where you want the new collar to start (i chose 3 inches from the seam where the hood met the collar)
-mark off where you want to cut with pins or fabric marking pencil, then cut along that line
-And you’re DONE! It’s really that easy :)
-i found the sides too wide, so i took it in by an inch on either side. To do this, turn shirt inside out, then use your fabric pencil and draw a line down where you want take in the shirt.
-Cut excess fabric, pin together and sew
…enjoy diy crafters~!
Wearing my Amber from Sucker Punch costume for halloween, nothing says ‘happy halloween!’ like a pair of ass-less chaps :)
BUNSEN + BEAKER HALLOWEEN!
Happy Halloween everyone!! Here is a sneak peek at a couple of costumes I designed and made for clients of mine for their halloween in VEGAS. More photos to come, but I just couldn’t wait to share this picture with you guys. Bunsen wishes you a great halloween weekend, and Beaker says MEEP MEEP!
…drink, be merry, and be scary. loves~!
A special giveaway for this comic cosplay party I’m attending this friday. I’m going dressed as Amber from Sucker Punch, so I thought I would make some bunny mecha lollipops to go with the cosplay. I made a few extras to give away at the party. So if you’re going to be at Geeks after Dark. Look for me ;)
